DAY 9 - Visiting Family and Bay Area

Leaving the Redwoods and coast behind we set off towards the San Francisco Bay area to meet up with Laura's brother and his family for lunch at Cavallo Point, a neat little lodge that has inhabited the former location of Fort Baker, decommissioned in the mid-1990's. We were able to have the valet charge our car while we enjoyed a nice lunch and some bay vistas and awesome views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge (it isn't gold), and Alcatraz (they wouldn't let Laura leave Ryan there).

After a couple hours of family time (much to short) we had to continue on our journey south. On the way we took the rollercoaster that is Lombard St, the crookedest road in the world!

Our destination for the evening was south of San Francisco in Salinas, CA giving us early morning access to Pinnacles National Park tomorrow! On the way to Salinas we got to experience our first Tesla Supercharger station with a LINE!! There were 10 charging stalls and all of them were occupied! We took advantage of the wait to give Laura her first taste of In-N-Out Burger.
