DAY 8 - Baby Seals & Treehugging

Today was spent driving south on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from Yachats, OR to Foruna, CA. It was a day full of awesome coastal vistas, fun wildlife spottings, and amazing reminders of God's creative and diverse spirit.

Our first stop of the day was near Florence, OR at the Sea Lion Caves. Sea lions can be found here nearly every month of the year and we were able to get a great view of the rookery where baby seals are made. We also took an elevator down into a sea cave 20 stories below where we saw more seals playing and sunning themselves on the coastal rocks.

After Ryan had his share of making barking noises at the sea lions we continued our quest across the border into California and the Redwood National and State Parks area. Neither of us had ever seen trees this big! It is truly hard to imagine how big they are until you are standing at the base of one. We were sure to capture some great pics of us doing some treehugging, and even got a picture of a tree hugging Joules (our Tesla)!

Our evening ended in Fortuna, CA at the Redwood Riverwalk Hotel so we could charge for the night before heading to San Francisco tomorrow morning!!
