We started early today to get to Pinnacles National Park for some quick hiking before the heat of the day and to give us enough time to get back to our hotel for a quick shower and change of clothes before our scheduled Tesla Factory Tour.

Pinnacles National Park feels so remote! There were maybe three other cars at the trailhead when we arrived at 8:00am. It was already getting hot and much of the landscape was obscured by waves of smoke coming in from the wildfires near Los Angeles and in Big Sur. We had a nice 6 mile hike across the wilderness and even got to explore some caves with our flashlight! Laura wasn't feeling as adventurous in the caves when she heard the bats!!

The event Ryan has been looking forward to the entire trip finally arrived at 3pm when we had our tour of the Tesla Factory! It is amazing how much of the component manufacturing Tesla does themselves. They mold their own plastic parts and make their own aluminum parts from giant rolls of aluminum sheet and aluminum ingots. We would go into more detail for you but we are bound to secrecy by the NDA we had to sign... also meaning NO PICTURES inside the plant! At least we got this nice shot of our Signature Red Model S next to a beautiful new Signature Red Model X at the factory Supercharger.

We had a bit of evening free time so we decided to have a movie night-cap and caught the new Star Trek movie at the cinema near our hotel! Five Star rating for Pinnacles, Tesla, AND Star Trek!!
