DAY 7 - Keep it Weird to the Pacific

A trip to northwest Oregon isn't complete without a stop at Portland's Voodoo Doughnuts! We couldn't just have one so we bought enough of these sugar monstrosities to last us the rest of the week. Ryan couldn't wait to bite into the Voodoo Doll doughnut... we hope it doesn't bring us bad luck!

Armed with enough sugar to keep your kids (or us) awake for three months we headed to the coast where Laura got to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time. A quick stop in Seaside, OR where the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail ends for a Tesla Supercharge and we headed to Cannon Falls, OR for a peek at Haystack Rock and lunch.

Our journey continued down the 101, Pacific Coast Highway, or PCH if you prefer to Tillamook, OR for some afternoon cheese snacking. Ryan most recently had Tillamook cheese served to him on a trans-Atlantic Delta Airlines flight and it was fun to tour the factory and try samples of many of their cheeses. We definitely bought some to bring with us in our cooler. If you're more a fan of spreadable cheeses than you definitely want to visit the Blue Heron Cheese Factory for samples of their varieties of Brie... and if you're a driving a Tesla, you can plug in while you're there!

Further down the coast we stopped at Yaquina Head Lighthouse for some amazing views and even saw some migrating grey whales!! We missed out on pictures of the whales because we only had our iPhone potato cam with us.
