According to our original itinerary, this day was supposed to start in Jackson Hole and head west into Craters of the Moon National Monument. Instead, we departed from Twin Falls with a full charge and then returned to Twin Falls for a re-charge before heading to Boise for the night.

Twin Falls, ID is a great little town overlooking the Snake River as it cuts its way through a beautiful canyon valley. Evel Knievel once attempted to jump this canyon using a very large dirt ramp which is still there to remind you what to teach your children to NOT try at home.

We didn't know much about Craters of the Moon prior to our visit but it was full of new experiences for us both! The vast expanses of igneous rock (hooray for 7th grade science!) were amazing to see and hike. The black landscape was surprisingly full of color from all of the minerals present in the different types of lava rocks. We hiked through craters, climbed up cinder cones, and explored caves inside volcanic tubes!
As we made our way to Boise for the night, our beloved Tesla named Joules celebrated her 70,000th mile in Mountain Home, Idaho!!
